Darren + Katie were married at boutique winery Rickety Bridge.
I love destination weddings - They're relaxed, fun and generally full of love! This was certainly my experience at Rickety Bridge in picturesque Franschhoek when, in front of the closest friends and family, Darren & Katie exchanged vows.
Of the 49 guests, 3 of them were South African, the rest (including the bride and groom) had flown in from around the world to share in the festivities of the day - A trip, I'm sure they're all very pleased they made.
I met Darren & Katie a week before their wedding - We sat overlooking Camps Bay, with a glass of champagne, getting acquainted while discussing their wedding. Within seconds of meeting them, I knew it was going to be a fantastic day as they were both so relaxed, their emphasis on the enjoyment of their family and guests which I genuinely love.
The wedding day was filled with laughs and happy tears - They had originally planned for an outdoor reception, but due to the gusty Cape wind, it was not to be. The change in plans certainly didn't dampen their spirits - They still had each other, their friends & family present - More than enough for an amazing celebration.
The newlyweds prepare to head back to the UK this weekend, Travel safely Mr & Mrs Stevens!
