I Do: Stacy & Shaun
[ezcol_1half]
I met Stacy about 10 years ago. Our friendship was cemented a year later when six of us went on a three week vacation across California. Somewhere between Los Angeles and Las Vegas as the two singles we rolled our eyes at the couples with us on the trip, I knew we’d be friends for life. When Stacy moved back from London a few years ago she bought a house – Literally 5 doors down the road from me. It was on her drive-way I stopped to tell her that I was about to collect Ashton on our first date. It was on my couch she asked whether she should tell her friend Shaun that she had in fact fallen in love with him. This has been the nature of our friendship. With the love of family, support of friends and trust in God, Stacy & Shaun announced they’d be getting married in Thailand. Ashton was to be a bridesmaid and I would be their photographer. Just like that, item number 47 on my Dreamlist: "Photograph a wedding in Thailand" was soon to be ticked off.

Stacy and Shaun’s amazing families and some of their closest friends packed their bags and headed to Angsana, Laguna, Phuket in Bang Toa Bay to be a part of the celebrations. They recited their own vows in a pristine white chapel on the lagoon edge, before heading to Catch beach club for dinner and dancing – a wedding reception unlike any other I’ve yet to experience. The amount of detail included in the day was insane. They thought of everything. Letters to parents, gifts, sparklers, lanterns, the works. When looking over these photographs, I wish for just a second, you could feel the intense heat of the day. I have never in my life been that hot, and I’ve been hot!!! At times we needed to stop so that I could clean my lens – The humidity would steam it up and I couldn’t take any photographs. Not stressful at all when there is an impatient little elephant on the clock. (See the formal photographs). Stacy and Shaun - Thank You for choosing the beautiful land of Smiles & thank you for trusting me with your memories. Dreamlist item number 47: "Photogaph a wedding in Thailand." - Check.
