Bali: Part 2 - The Old Town (Benoa)

While I'm all about creature comforts when travelling - read, nice hotels - I do like to get a feel for the local culture. Dont get me wrong - By no stretch of the imagination do I plan to tell you that after an hour tour of the town do I understand the locals... Nope... that's not my intention. I just wanted to show you what life away from the resort looks like.

The hotel offered a morning walk through "Old Town" - Basically if you were willing to be up and waiting at 7am, you could take a guided walk along the beach, across the field, through to the local town and market and get a feel for what happens at 7am on weekday morning.

This was one of the highlights of the trip for me.
