She said yes: David & Claire

Claire left her hometown of Durban to study at Stellenbosch University. When her scheduled allowed she’d go home for weekends to spend time with her family and friends. It was during one of these breaks that her and a friend found themselves at Durban hotspot Joe Cools. It was an unusually busy night and there were hundreds of people queuing to get inside the club. Standing behind them in the line was David. If you’ve met David, you’ll know that he no doubt immediately introduced himself and started working his charm. They chatted that night and after much insisting, Claire gave David her phone number. He called her a few times when they were both back in Cape Town and Claire agreed to meet him for lunch at the Spice Route in Paarl – Years later, this is where they hosted friends and family to celebrate their engagement.

I always ask couples where they want to be photographed. Claire mailed me and said they wanted to use the Adderley street fountain. I loved the idea but when I went to take a look, I wasn’t convinced. There were road works and I was worried that they’d slip once they climbed in, or worse, that the police would arrive and they’d be arrested. Yikes. They seemed adamant though – They’re headstrong and determined in that way. Thank goodness because the images are awesome. Before we headed off to the fountain, we walked around Greenmarket square and then ended off with a spectacular view of the mountain just before sunset. David & Claire, thank you for being such fun, I hope you love the final product as much as I do.
