Plettenberg Bay
In the very early hours of Saturday morning with sleep filled eyes, we climbed out of bed, packed in our suitcases, the camera's and two home made smoothies, and hit the road.
When Ashton had come home weeks earlier and said we were going on a mini-break, I smiled. While she'd wanted to keep the destination a surprise, I'd shouted out Knysna before she could finish her sentance. I'm not so good with surprises. I'm a planner.
We have friends that stay in Plettenberg Bay & they'd just had a baby - It made sense we'd visit since she knew I'd want to do a photo shoot with lovely little Kiva. So that became the plan.
We had an amazing time.... We met Kiva, reconnected with her folks, met up with friends for drinks in Knysna, enjoyed a lazy braai, met some new amazing people, went for Dinner with the Dewey's at Emily Moon - A must if you're in that neck of the woods, strolled along the beach, walked through the town, lunched at the lookout and visited the Beacon Isle Hotel to see how it had changed since the last time I'd been there.
All in all, a pretty spectacular few days.
Apart from the time I was photographing Kiva, I didnt lift my camera during the duration of our stay - So the pics below are from my iPhone and rarely my point & shoot. Aint technology grand ;)
While its always amazing to get away for a couple of days, nothing seems to beat the beauty of the Cape when you spot it in the distance on your way home!! This is the view of Strand from Sir Lowry's Pass.
