I met up with Thys and Ria for a cup of coffee so that we could introduce ourselves and discuss their wedding day plans. Immediately, I knew it would be smooth sailing – Ria was so organised, there was very little that still needed to be ironed out.
On the morning of the wedding, as we drove in the rain from Cape Town to Stanford, I wondered how her nerves were holding out. When we arrived at the guest house she was getting ready in, she was completely calm and full of smiles, ready to head off to meet Thys. “The rain is going to be finished by 2pm,” she said. I smiled and agreed. It’s normally me offering reassuring words I thought. The skies cleared up at 2pm and it was a beautiful day.
After the ceremony as we headed from Stanford to De Uijlenes, we took full advantage of the beauty the area had to offer – From the ocean cliffs to the greens of the forest – Every stop had been planned and time allocated for and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
We arrived for their reception to a hustling room full of the people they love, all ready to celebrate – I think they accomplished exactly that.
Veels geluk Thys & Ria!
